Focus T25 Review

Focus T25This summer, Beachbody released a new workout program called Focus T25, created by Shaun T of Insanity and Insanity Asylum fame.  This program is a combination of moves of Insanity, Asylum, Hip Hop Abs and some new moves coming together to create an entirely new experience and way of thinking.  Focus T25 is a non-stop sweat session for 25 minutes straight, no breaks, no  rest, just move after move.

The program is divided into 2 phases, Alpha and Beta phases.  Alpha phase is designed to build your foundation, core and endurance, allowing you to handle the more strenuous Beta phase.  Unlike Insanity, this program is much longer, at 10 weeks.  Also, if you are up to the challenge, there is a third phase called Gamma, which can be bought separately, and consists of an additional 4 exercises and is 5 weeks in length.  All in, this program is 15 weeks long, which should allow you to achieve the body you want.

I am currently in week 4 of Alpha phase.  From these 4 short weeks, I can say I am amazed at the amount of sweat and grit this workout takes.   I’ll admit, the workouts do startout quite light on work for the first 3-4 minutes, but after that…there are many times when I wished I was doing Insanity instead, especially during the Total Body workout.  While I am only in the foundation phase of the program, these workouts are killer for 25 mins.  Its literally amazing the amount of sweat that pours from my head during these moves, in such a short amount of time.

Another key feature for me on T25 is the time required.  Literally on 25 mins is all it takes to get a complete workout started and finished.  This summer has been a frantic time of year, with a ton of family and personal events going on, so the 25 mins was a big plus for me during this time.

I would highly recommend this purchasing program given all its features and results I have seen thus far.  I was skeptical at first, especially having completed Shaun T’s Insanity workout a couple time.  I mean come on, how can a 25 min workout compare to the level and intensity Insanity brings.  I was wrong in that assessment,  I can honestly say.  Focus T25 is a great workout, and truly lives up to the Beachbody and Shaun T reputation.  I’m looking forward to what Beta phase brings, and eventually Gamma!

  2. Great Post! I’ve been doing P90X, P90X2, Insanity and the Asylums for years now, and was anxiously awating this workout to come out! I love that its only 25 mins, however it is not light on work and sweat. I couldn’t believe how hard it was/is during the alpha phase so far. Right up there with Insanity!
