In this article, we look at Shakeology, the partner program to all of BeachBody’s fantastic workout series’, such as Insanity, P90X, T25, etc…

With every infomercial, DVD kit and online forum, BeachBody touts their Shakeology program, which aims to enhance your health through a meal replacement and dietary shake program.  So the big question is, does Shakeology work as a weight loss tool?

First lets examine the cost of Shakeology.  If you’ve seen the infomercials or advertisements, I’m sure you’ve noticed the price of Shakeology.  If you are wondering just why Shakeology carries such a hefty price tag, there is a good reason for it.  The ingredients. With a scan of the ingredients label you can quickly see it’s all natural, and the over 70 nutrient dense products are sourced from all over the world. Shakeology contains all of your daily doses of proteins, vitamins and minerals. It also includes antioxidants, fiber, probiotics and a whole host of other nutritious ingredients.

Shakeology may be expensive, but I bet you have no problem going out to dinner and spending $50 or more dollars on dinner and drinks once or twice a week.  If you cut out all, or at least part of your typical dining out, you can more than afford the Shakeology program.  Frankly, its putting an investment back into your health, rather than just eating junk food out at a restaurant.

Before I started taking Shakeology I was having a difficult time breaking a certain barrier. I began at 185 when I started taking Shakeology.  This had been my plateau for quite a while.  Sure enough after the first week the numbers started to move again.

I used Shakeology as a meal replacement and occasionally as a snack. For me, Shakeology provided a mechanism to allow my weight loss to continue.

Prior to ordering Shakeology I was having protein bars daily. I was pretty well addicted to them. I hated that I had to have them every day but really I just couldn’t stop eating them. It’s artificial sugar that does that, all the HFCS and other ingredients, tricking your brain into thinking you aren’t full and need to indulge more.

I was not convinced the protein bars I was eating were the healthiest option for me, however at the time I felt they would do the trick to suppress my appetite and give me energy.  Shakeology was an excellent replacement, as it satisfied my cravings, and gave me the energy boost I was looking for.

Did I mention I was paying $3 – $4 a day for these protein bars? That pretty much negates any objections I had to buying Shakeology
